James M. Madden is a a coauthor of the Hidden Jistory of New Jersey, Hidden History of New Jersey At War and the 350 years of New Jersey History from Stuyvestant to Sandy. He also has been a contributor to the New Jersey Civil War 150th Committee series: "Goes to War, biographies of 150 New Jerseyans Caught Up in the Struggles of the Civil War", "New Jersey Civil War Odyssey" as well as several other publications. Jim grew up in the Jersey City Heights, graduated Saint Peter's Prep and went on to received his BA in Marketing from Saint Peter's College. He's written, researched and contributed to dozens of books, articles and videos about the Civil War, specializing in Hudson County NJ history. Jim is a marketing professional and political consultant and is also the treasurer of the New Jersey Civil War Heritage Association, a member of the NJ 150th Civil War Committee, a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, and The Company of Military Historians. Jim is currently working on the next NJ War 150th Committee publication which will include more Hudson County civil war related stories; the murder of the Hudson City Mayor at the hands of Union Soldiers, a Hoboken Bounty Jumper sting which influenced a Jersey City mayoral election as well the scare of the Confederate Navy coming up the Hudson River. This next 150th Civil War publication is due out next spring 2011.
