I have 35 years' experience of family history research, turning professional in 1989. Since 2000 I have worked full time as a historical researcher, dealing with family history, research for authors and research for overseas postgraduate students. I am currently working towards PhD with University of Chichester/University of Southampton, looking at the county of Sussex in the period of the English Civil Wars [c. 1640-1660]. I am interested in all things historical and was Honorary Curator of Storrington and District Museum from its inception in 1998 until 2006 when pressure of work, my postgraduate research and family commitments forced me to step down.

Service Description:
I am happy to undertake all types of historical research in the main London archives [National Archives (formerly PRO), British Library, London Metropolitan Archives, Society of Genealogists Library, Guildhall Library etc]as well as both the Sussex County Record Offices [East- and West- Sussex, and other archives by special agreement. I have a particular interest in Anglo-Indian families, Army records and, of course, the 17thC. I am happy to transcribe documents post 1500 but prefer not to tackle Latin documents. I am also happy to photograph locations in and around Sussex
