Biography:
I have thirty years experience in genealogy both as an amateur and as a certified professional genealogist, have a PhD (in sociology from the University of Michigan), taught for six years at the university level, and have retired from a career as an administrator of research in effectiveness of federal programs. I specialize in New England and the Mid Atlantic states where I live and have a second home with ready access to major databases, archives and town halls and county courthouses. When not attending to the work of clients, I have been a volunteer at the National Archives compiling electronic indices of Bounty Land Warrants applications and compiled enlistment records of the War of 1812. I also volunteer at the Smithsonian Institution as a genealogist and annotator for the William Steinway Diary Project. I specialize in lineages and problems and can also work with Italian records. I particularly enjoy assembling high quality genealogical and family history materials for clients who want to understand the social and historical context of their families in the form of analytical and interpretive works.
