Biography:
Marissa Gardner lives in Salt Lake City, Utah. She has been passionate about family history since an early age. In college, Marissa studied music and math before finally settling on family history. Her professors told her that she was a natural and she quickly developed skills in researching in a variety of record types and in several different regions of the world. Since graduating in 2005, Marissa has worked for companies such as Sorenson Molecular Genealogy Foundation, ProGenealogists, Inc., and Venio, LLC. She was a freelance researcher for 10 years and is now employed at Legacy Tree Genealogists.
Marissa earned her accreditation in Germanic research in 2011. This demonstrates her expertise in Central and Eastern European research, as well as allowing her to testify in kinship hearings as an expert witness. However, Marissa's primary focus as a genealogist is conducting client research because she loves to be personally involved in helping individuals and families connect with their roots and get to know their ancestors.
