Sharon Hoyt is a genealogy researcher and consultant from California's Silicon Valley. Before focusing full time on genealogy, she worked as an information architect managing intranet content and search tools for large technology companies. Her areas of interest include New England, New York, and the Midwest. As a native Californian whose family has lived in the state since the 1880s, she enjoys helping California residents trace their ancestors' paths to the Golden State. In addition to her client research, she has served as a consultant to Ancestry. Sharon is a member of APG, NGS, NEHGS, and the Southern California Genealogical Society, among others. She is an alumna of the National Institute on Genealogical Research and the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy. She holds a Master's degree in Library and Information Science.
