Susan Burneson is a professional genealogist, archive researcher, writer, and designer with more than 20 years of experience. Her clients include authors (print and web), history organizations (including the Texas Supreme Court Historical Society and Preservation Austin), television production companies (including Who Do You Think You Are? on TLC and Good Girls Revolt on Amazon), foundations (including the Austin Community Foundation), law firms, filmmakers, private investigators, marketing firms, developers, and many individuals; 1993-present. In 2009, she and her husband, Rob, received the Mary Faye Barnes Award for Excellence in Community History Projects from the Texas Oral History Association. Their project, Voices of the Violet Crown, includes a website; oral history interviews; three films, First Night W/Domino & Friends, A Community Mosaic, and We Planted 115 Trees; community and history exhibits and a companion booklet; and feature articles. Susan is a founding board member of Project ClayPlay and Violet Crown Community Works. She has served in the community in the Friends of Brentwood Park, Crestview Neighborhood Association, Empty Bowl Project, and Violet Crown Festival.
