Biography:
Susan Burneson is a professional genealogist, history researcher, writer, and designer. In 2009, she and her husband, Rob, received the Mary Faye Barnes Award for Excellence in Community History Projects from the Texas Oral History Association. Their project, Voices of the Violet Crown, includes a website; oral history interviews; three films, First Night W/Domino & Friends, A Community Mosaic, and We Planted 115 Trees; community and history exhibits and a companion booklet; and feature articles. Susan is a founding board member of Project ClayPlay and Violet Crown Community Works. She has served in leadership roles in the Friends of Brentwood Park, Crestview Neighborhood Association, Empty Bowl Project, and Violet Crown Festival.
