Extended Tab

Billie Stone Fogarty, a full time professional genealogist, currently serves as President of the Association of Professional Genealogists, an international organization with members in over 40 countries. She travels extensively to meet with other genealogists. A frequent speaker at national and state genealogy conferences, she is former president of the Genealogical Speakers Guild. Billie is also active on the regional, state, and local level in advancing genealogical research and open records access as the state liaison for the Records Preservation and Access Committee. She has worked diligently for the Oklahoma Genealogical Society (7 terms as President) and the Oklahoma Historical Society (Board of Directors and Executive Committee, Research, Publications, and Development Committees). She and her business partner developed and host an annual learning retreat for professional genealogists held in rural northeast Michigan called GenStock. Her background as an educator shows through in her passion for leading others to discover their own family history.
