The Grahame T. Smallwood Award of Merit was established by the Association of Professional Genealogists in 1981 and first awarded to its namesake, Grahame T. Smallwood Jr., an early leader of the Association. The award is generally presented annually to a member of the APG who has demonstrated long-term personal commitment and outstanding service to the Association.
Eligibility: Active APG Member in good standing
Criteria: Demonstration of a long-term (five-year minimum) commitment of meaningful service to the Association.
Selection: Nominations are solicited from members of the APG Board of Directors, Chapters, and Special Interest Groups. The recipient is selected by the APG Awards Committee, with approval of the Executive Committee.
