Submit the manuscript via e-mail. Articles should be formatted to be flush left; please do not use indents or tabs. Use two paragraph returns between paragraphs. Do not use any abbreviations, all capital letters, or underlining. Bold and italics are acceptable. The author's full name should appear with the article along with a four-sentence bio. Articles will be evaluated by our Editorial Board. Reference notes should be grouped together at the end of the manuscript. Guidelines recommended for citing sources may be in The Chicago Manual of Style, 14th edition, Richard S. Lackey's Cite Your Sources, Elizabeth Shown Mills' Evidence Explained: Citing History Sources from Artifacts to Cyberspace.
Photos, graphics, and other illustrations should be submitted as digital files, 300 dpi TIFF or JPEG. Standard articles come in three varieties: Column (approximately 1,000 words), feature story (approximately 3,000 words), and cover-story (chosen by editor from among the feature articles). Contributions should be sent to APGQ Editor, email@example.com.
We will ask for a black and white or color professional photo, not larger than 3.5 by 5 inches, to be included with the publication of your article. This is not mandatory, but preferred. We will send you a standard publication agreement, asking you to assign copyright to APGQ for one year. A sample copy of the agreement is available upon receipt of an SASE. APGQ reserves the right to edit all articles according to space limitations and style; however, you will receive a copy of the edited manuscript before publication for your approval.
