family who worked for the Yazoo &amp; Mississippi Valley Railroad (Y&amp;MVRR).
This railroad intersected with the Illinois Central in <st1:State w:st="on">Mississippi</st1:State>
and made travel available to eastern states such as <st1:State w:st="on">Alabama</st1:State>
and <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Georgia</st1:place></st1:country-region>.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 color=navy face=Arial><span style='font-size:
10.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:navy'>Now I can easily see the travel of this
family.&nbsp; A son was born in Arab, <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Marshall</st1:PlaceName>
<st1:PlaceName w:st="on">County</st1:PlaceName>, <st1:State w:st="on">AL</st1:State>
but he was raised in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Granada</st1:City>,
 <st1:State w:st="on">Mississippi</st1:State></st1:place>.&nbsp; This was
apparently a typical traveling railroad family.&nbsp; Add to this the mix of
never consistently using the same given name as they moved.&nbsp; This was an
African-American family and the use of nicknames in much of their life is giving
me a hard time.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
