I would start with Topeka-Shawnee County Public Library and Emporia
Public Library.

Topeka has card indexes to the older obituaries and Emporia has printed
indexes to many of the Emporia-area papers.

Also, microfilm for these newspapers are also available for interlibrary
loan from the Kansas State Historical Society (their collection of Kansas
newspapers is great; the Society was started by newspapermen in the 19th
century!).

I am in need of some obituaries from Kansas. Not sure if the best
place to get these for 1966 and 1987 for persons who died in Topeka and
Emporia, KS. Is the best place the State Library of KS or the local
library?

Anyone who can help, please email me directly and I will give information
about names, etc.
Thanks
