considered a US Territory, census records were ususally <BR>kept. Some
of these were special censuses, meaning that they were not <BR>necessarily
kept at the regular 10 year interval that censuses were kept for <BR>the then
current states of the US. You might find a census every year or so
<BR>because the US government needed to know how many people were living in
that <BR>territory. Some of these censuses are statistical and some list
the heads <BR>of household and the number of people living in it. It
really depends upon <BR>the reason that the census was taken.<BR><BR>
