Association of Professional Genealogists Participates in London’s Who Do You Think You Are? LIVE 2011 Conference and Exhibition

APG President Laura Prescott to Present Two Talks: “Hiring a Professional Genealogist: at Home and Abroad” and “Locating Missing Brits Who Came to America”

LONDON, U.K. and WESTMINSTER, Colo., February 25, 2010—The Association of Professional Genealogists (APG®) is participating in the Who Do You Think You Are? LIVE 2011, today through Sunday, in London, U.K. Visitors to the APG stand (#519) will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn the benefits of hiring professional genealogists who adhere to genealogical standards and ethics.

APG president Laura Prescott and executive director Kathleen Hinckley, CG, along with a large group of APG members, will represent the organization at the show. “APG is the world’s largest professional genealogical association,” said Hinckley. “With 15,000 attendees expected, this conference presents us with the opportunity to educate a new international market on the genealogical profession and hiring a professional. Visitors to our stand can speak with an APG member to learn more.” The upcoming exhibition will be the APG’s first conference presence outside of North America.

Prescott will deliver two presentations during the conference. On Friday, February 25 at 4:30 p.m. GMT, she will present, “Hiring a Professional Genealogist: at Home and Abroad.” At 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 27, she will present, “Locating Missing Brits Who Went to America.”

“APG is a global organization. Its members and their clients appreciate the benefits of international connections,” said Prescott. “Our presence at Who Do You Think You Are? Live 2011 will raise awareness of APG and its membership.”

APG will also sponsor a workshop by Eileen O’Duill, CG, who will present, “Moving from Amateur to Professional: Making the Leap,” on Saturday, February 26 at 3:00 p.m.

About the Who Do You Think You Are? LIVE 2011 Conference and Exhibition
The Who Do You Think You Are? LIVE 2011 conference, the U.K.’s largest and most comprehensive family history event, will be held February 25−27, 2011 at London’s historic Olympia Exhibition Centre. The conference, held since 2007, was created in response to overwhelming interest in the U.K.’s television show Who Do You Think You Are?, now in its seventh season.
