One of the resources that was used as an exercise in the IGHR course on
Government Documents was a book _Railroad maps of the United States : a
selective annotated bibliography of original 19th-century maps in the
Geography and Map Division of the Library of Congress (1975)_ which can be
downloaded at http://www.archive.org/details/railroadmapsofun00libr.
There are other maps at American Memories
http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/gmdhtml/rrhtml/rrhome.html and on

I need maps of U.S. Railroads as they expanded during the Nineteenth through
the early Twentieth Centuries.
Anyone have a recommendation?
