Try the Onondaga Co. Vital Statistics site (not VitalChek):

http://www.ongov.net/vital/

They have an express service with extra fee.

You may wish to determine whether this County office also has and will search the vital records kept by the Towns.

Understand that birth "Certificates" were not created in the 1880s, but you may receive a 'certificate' that is a certified copy of data in an original record.

While you may be aware of this, it is worth while noting that just because there are records commencing with 1873, this does not mean that all events since that time were actually recorded. In addition, birth of a child may have taken place in a different location than the usual residence of the parents.

Good hunting,
Judy
