Assistant Genealogist
ProGenealogists, the nation's leading genealogical research firm, is seeking
a sharp, trained and enthusiastic assistant genealogist for a full or part
time position at their Salt Lake City offices. The successful candidate will
be familiar with genealogical sources, methods and resources (repositories,
organizations, etc.) for the United States and at least one foreign country
(preferably Germany).
A Bachelor's degree in a related field and foreign language experience
(particular interest in Germanic languages) is required, as are good writing
skills and significant experience with genealogical software, MS Word and
similar computer applications. A passion for accurate and efficient research
must be present.
An assistant genealogist works with a case manager or other experienced
genealogists in analyzing, outlining and conducting research for a variety
of clients. Tasks include directed and non-directed research, data entry,
file management and organization, source citation, report writing, client
and prospect communication, and updating web pages.
