[APG Public List] How does Ancestry.com do this?

Jeanette, do you have some source for this idea that you can provide?  I'm not well versed in copyright, but my understanding is that authors hold copyright to any original work that they *create*, not that they publish.  Being out of print doesn't strike me as relevant.
