It depends. Some less expensive sorters have the light source placed 
below the slides sometimes facing upward, which would provide a hot spot 
or glare when filming. Other sorters provide indirect lighting by 
reflecting and diffusing the light as much as possible to reduce hot 
spots or glare and provide even lighting across the viewing surface. The 
latter type is best for this type of work.
