Association of Professional Genealogists Announces Activities at 2012 National Genealogical Society Family History Conference
Conference Attendees Can Learn about Hiring Professional Genealogists and Becoming a Professional Genealogist

CINCINNATI, Ohio and WESTMINSTER, Colo., 9 May 2012—The Association of Professional Genealogists (APG®) is sponsoring several activities at the 2012 National Genealogical Society (NGS) Family History Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to exhibiting in the vendor hall, APG is holding educational events to help professional genealogists in their careers. Conference attendees can visit the APG booth (#425/427) to learn more about hiring a professional genealogist, as well as how to become one.

"We are expecting a large turnout of visitors to the APG booth, as genealogy continues to rise in popularity," said APG President Kenyatta D. Berry. "The release of the 1940 U.S. Census this year and the success of television shows, such as Who Do You Think You Are? and Finding Your Roots with Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr., are driving this trend. Our members who will be staffing the booth are looking forward to helping others learn about the benefits of hiring a professional genealogist." Booth visitors may also obtain membership information and examine a world map display that shows the locations and geographic specialties of APG members.

APG is hosting the following events at NGS:
