Biography:
Yvette Hoitink (1975) studied Computer Science and Business Information Technology at the University of Twente in Enschede, the Netherlands. She and her partner (now her husband) started their own computer company in 1997. Having been a genealogist since age 15, this company specialized in creating online access to historical information. Yvette has been responsible for creating or improving websites for several archives in the Netherlands, including some of the major genealogical websites in the country. Since 2006, Yvette has worked as a project manager and IT consultant at the National Archives in The Hague. Besides her work at the National Archives, Yvette also works as a professional genealogist.

Yvette has been researching emigration from the Netherlands to the United States in the 19th century for over 15 years. She has been using her knowledge of emigration and Dutch genealogy to help hundreds of people from all over the world find their ancestors in the Netherlands.

Yvette specializes in genealogical research in the Netherlands. She can do research in any province, in any time period since the late Middle Ages.

Her services include creating research plans, visiting archives throughout the Netherlands to do research, transcribing, abstracting or translating original documents, analyzing records for evidence and clues, creating research reports, including source citations, authoring or co-authoring of genealogical publications and consultancy on how to break through those brick walls.
