Biography:
Ugo A. Perego is the Senior Consultant Officer for the privately owned Genetic Genealogy Consultant company (www.GeneticGenealogyConsultant.com). Previously, he was a Senior Researcher for the non-profit Sorenson Molecular Genealogy Foundation (www.smgf.org) and a Scientific Consultant for GeneTree.com, both located in SLC, UT for more than a decade. He received a BSc and a MSc in Health Sciences from Brigham Young University and a PhD in Genetics and Biomolecular Sciences from the University of Pavia in Italy. Dr. Perego has written numerous articles and lectured internationally about the use of DNA in tracing ancient and modern population migrations, in reconstructing family histories and genealogies, and in resolving forensic and historical cases. Over the past decade, he has supervised the collection of more than 110,000 DNA samples with corresponding pedigrees to be included in the largest repository of correlated genetic and genealogical data currently housed at Ancestry.com.
