Rachel M. Popma
I am a professional writer, editor, and researcher specializing in family and local history, biography, and memoir. I have nine years of editorial experience in book and magazine publishing (trade and scholarly materials for both print and the web). I am currently the editor of the Indiana Genealogical Society's quarterly journal, Indiana Genealogist.
I have researched my own family history since 1986. In 2010 I successfully completed Boston University's Certificate in Genealogical Research program. I continue to actively seek continuing education opportunities through genealogical conferences (national, regional, and local) and workshops as well as membership in local and national organizations.
Whether you're thinking of publishing or just recording your hard work for future generations, I can help you compile, organize, and prepare your family history and copyedit and proofread your written work. I am also available for research work and consultation on midwestern-based projects and happy to assist with "on-the-ground" work in the Indianapolis area.
