Biography:
Genealogy is my passion! I began researching my own family history in 1978. I used a typewriter to create my own family history charts and kept them in order in a box. It was definitely a chore to find a family member's information in a hurry! During the Fall of 1995, I became a founding member of the Genealogical Society of Marion County (Indiana) and served as the founding Co-Publication Director for their Indy Lineages Newsletter. This began my volunteer journey with genealogical and historical societies. I believe that volunteering in a capacity that you have a passion for is one way of giving back to your community. But it also does something else, it helps us to learn, interact with others, and gain experience. In my volunteer journeys I found joy in helping others, forming relationships with new friends and learning new things about genealogy. I volunteer with the INGENWEB Project for Boone and Wayne counties; the American Local History Network as State Coordinator for the South Carolina History and Genealogy Project and a County Coordinator for the Tennessee-ALHN for the counties of Maury and Hickman. I also volunteer with the American Local History Network as the Secretary/Treasurer and with the TNGENWEB Project as a Board Member, and a County Coordinator for Claiborne and Williamson Counties. I am a full-time professional genealogist. I perform genealogy research in Indiana and I search for lost living heirs, and document retrieval, transcriber, photographs of tombstones, houses or businesses, and much more.
