Biography:

I am an experienced researcher of Scottish genealogy and family history located in Scotland's capital close to the major Scottish Archives. I also carry out research in many smaller archives, libraries and local studies centres allowing clients to access the wealth of historical information they hold. I have studied paleography and can read old forms of English and Scottish handwriting. I also have experience in tracing heirs on behalf of probate research companies and private individuals.

My Ain Folk charge an hourly rate which allows us to tailor our research to the individual needs of each client and their unique family history. Our rate is inclusive of all costs.

Palaeography Service - Transcription of Old Handwriting

As each document is unique it is impossible to set a standard price. Typical prices are:

From �10.00 GBP per page (depending on age and number of words)

�5.00 GBP per extract (from a parish register etc.)
