Announcement

The Florida Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) has launched a membership drive for all Sunshine State residents who do professional-type work in family history, for hire or for themselves and are (or apply to become) APG members.

Formed in 2004, the chapter is made up of researchers, writers, lecturers, librarians, family historians, and others in fields related to family history. You do not need to work for clients to become a member of the Florida Chapter. If you are already an APG member who lives in Florida, you need to also join the Florida Chapter to participate in chapter activities and receive local benefits.

We will be holding meetings around the state, and we hope you will consider joining us to network, learn, and grow in genealogy. We have assembled a team of 10 dedicated chapter leaders, and we are all very enthusiastic about Florida’s newest genealogical organization.

Most of the initial startup expenses of the chapter have been contributed by our leaders, including acquiring a website domain, incorporating as a Florida nonprofit organization, printing brochures, mailing materials, and other costs. So we can provide quality membership value to you, we have also set relatively modest membership dues, effectively immediately for this year.

Please print and mail in your Florida Chapter Application form. You may also view the chapter's trifold brochure.

The application form and the brochure require Adobe Reader. You may download the free reader from adobe.com.

Please visit the Meetings page for upcoming events and reports on previous meetings.
